Title:
Delta Schedule Changes
Body:
Delta Schedule Change Assistance for Travel Agencies

Delta is working diligently to re-engineer our policies around schedule changes and the work that is required by you, our travel partners. Provided that implementation and testing goes well, we expect to launch our revised process and policy in August 2008.

In the interim, we are providing to you a set of conditions, which will allow you to focus on Delta schedule changes that have the greatest impact to our mutual customers.  These conditions are exceptions to normal ticketing rules and are effective immediately.

A DL ticketed itinerary does not have to be re-issued due to a Delta schedule change if one or both of the following conditions exist:

1)      Time change:
a.       New DL flight is departing no earlier than 59 minutes of the original scheduled departure; not to exceed 59 minutes
b.       New DL flight is departing no later than 59 minutes of the original scheduled departure; not to exceed 59 minutes
2)      Flight number changed ONLY and departure time remains the same

Note: This interim process does not revalidate the ticket; however, it does allow customers to check-in using the Kiosk or online check-in.

Required Reissue
Reservations with the following changes must be reissued by the original issuing agency in order for the passenger to be able to check in automatically via the KIOSK or online:
Change in class of service
Routing changes
Misconnections that require a reaccommodation of the passenger onto other flights, dates or times
New departure time, in any direction, exceeds 59 minutes of the original scheduled flight

It is not necessary to reissue tickets immediately after accepting the schedule change. You may reissue as deemed necessary based on the customer’s travel plans and your business practices. Until we are able to launch the new Agency schedule change policies and procedures, we hope this will assist you as well as help to ensure our mutual customers have a hassle-free travel experience.
